Project Karasgaon.
One hundred children in Karasgaon are malnourished today. The hands to help them already exist locally. What is missing is the food itself.
The ground is ready. The basket is not.
Karasgaon is a different problem from Roha. These children are already malnourished, and the community around them carries the day-to-day work of reaching them: the hands, the follow-up, the distribution. What Karasgaon cannot fund is the raw material itself. So that is exactly what we fund, and nothing else.
Because the ground operations are covered locally, every rupee donated to this project goes into food. That is also why the number is small: ₹120 a month per child, including GST, buys the full monthly basket of four protein-dense staples. ₹12,000 a month covers every malnourished child in Karasgaon.
Four staples, weighed to the gram.
Chana · 250 g
Bengal gram, the protein backbone of the basket.
Mung, whole · 250 g
Green gram, rich in iron and easy on small stomachs.
Kabuli chana · 250 g
Chickpeas, protein and fibre for steady recovery.
Shing dana · 250 g
Groundnut, the dense calories a recovering child needs.
Each child receives this basket every month. ₹120 per child including GST, ₹1,440 for a child’s full year, ₹12,000 a month for all one hundred children.
